I am a Doctor of Pharmacy and have been a pharmacist for more than 20 years. I am also an author and in the process of getting a book published called Investing In Your Health:A Pharmacists Guide to Choosing Natural Products.
In 1992 I graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor of science in pharmacy. Since then I have worked in various fields within the pharmaceutical industry as a licensed pharmacist. Immediately out of pharmacy school I worked in a private retail store with considerable patient counseling. After that I worked at a mail order pharmacy. That job involved telephone patient counseling and the dispensing of almost every drug imaginable.
In 2003 I went back to school and received my doctorate in pharmacy. At that time I took a job at a hospital where I still work. My job involves assisting nurses and doctors with drug prescribing, drug administration, and drug dispensing. I independently monitor and dose highly toxic and dangerous drugs.
In addition to my hospital job, I am also a consultant pharmacist to skilled nursing facilities and nursing homes. I review patient drug regimens for appropriateness, do in-services for the nurses, provide practitioners with new drug information, and make sure the facility is in legal compliance with the board of pharmacy.
I am a member of The New Mexico Society of Hospital Pharmacist and member of the American Association of Anti-aging Medicine.
Anti-aging medicine is a personal interest that I plan on pursuing for the rest of my life.
